The Problem
Universities all seem to promise the same future.
Opportunity. Ambition. Potential. Success.
BCU needed an identity that couldn't simply have another university's logo stuck on it.
The Shift
Stop telling prospective students what BCU is.
Tell them who they are.
The Idea
Beyonder.
A person who doesn't settle, follow or fit the mould. Someone who chooses to go further.
The word gave BCU an entire attitude to own, rooted in Birmingham's grit, ambition, diversity and tendency to make things happen.
Beyonder.
When BCU embarked on a new campaign, the goal was clear: to stand out. Our collaboration led to the creation of a distinctive design system and a vibrant new color palette that truly sets them apart.

What it Changed
Beyonder grew beyond a recruitment campaign and became part of BCU’s identity.
It gave the university a distinctive way to talk about ambition, belonging and what it means to study at Birmingham City University, creating a platform that could live across student recruitment, campus communications and the wider university brand.
It didn’t just attract students. It gave BCU a language for who they could become.
